EmberNest Size Guide

Choose by how your cat sleeps rather than how big she is. A cat who curls up needs less room than one who stretches out full length.

Size Dimensions (cm) Dimensions (in) Best For
C
45 × 45 cm 17.7 × 17.7 in One cat who sleeps curled — crates, carriers, shelves, cat tree platforms
S
45 × 70 cm 17.7 × 27.6 in A cat who stretches out full length, or wants room to shift through the night
L
60 × 90 cm 23.6 × 35.4 in Multi-cat households, large or senior cats, and cold rooms
Please note: All three sizes are 1.2 in (3 cm) thick, so they lie flat in a crate, on a sofa cushion, or on a cat tree platform. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one — cats rarely object to more space.

Description

EmberNest Heated Cat Pad is built with a multi-layer construction that spreads warmth evenly across the whole surface, so there are no hot spots and no cold corners. Three heat settings — low, medium, high — run from a simple inline slider, and a built-in temperature sensor monitors the pad continuously to keep it steady. The soft plush velour surface is comfortable enough that most cats knead it before they settle, while the textured non-slip base keeps the pad in place on hardwood, tile, or laminate. The cord is reinforced with double-wire protection and a ribbed sleeve where it leaves the pad, built for households where a curious cat investigates with her teeth. At just 1.2 inches thick, it lies flat in a crate, on a cat tree platform, or on a sofa cushion without getting in the way. Whether she's a senior cat feeling the cold in her joints, a kitten who can't hold her own heat yet, or simply a cat who's claimed the draughtiest corner of the house, EmberNest gives her somewhere genuinely warm to settle.

How To Use

  1. Lay it flat. Place the pad on a level surface where your cat already likes to sleep — a crate floor, a cat tree platform, a sofa cushion, or the floor itself. Keep it flat and unfolded. Never fold or bunch the pad while it's switched on.
  2. Plug it in. Connect the pad to a wall outlet. The cord runs from the pad through the inline controller to the plug — keep the cord clear of walkways and away from anything that might pinch it.
  3. Choose a setting. Slide the controller to low, medium, or high. The indicator light confirms it's powered. Low suits kittens and mild days; high suits cold nights, garages, porches, and unheated rooms.
  4. Let her find it. Most cats settle within a few minutes. Give her a day or two if she's cautious — cats tend to claim a warm surface on their own terms.
  5. Check the fit. Make sure the pad isn't bunched or folded underneath her body. If it is, unfold it and lay it flat again.
  6. Keeping it clean. Unplug first and let the pad cool. Wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry fully before plugging it back in. Do not soak the pad, submerge it, or put it in the washing machine.

Three Sizes, Every Cat

Curl — 45 × 45 cm (17.7″ × 17.7″). Square and compact, sized for one cat curled up. It fits neatly inside most crates and carriers, and sits well on a cat tree platform, a shelf, or a wide windowsill. The right choice for a single cat who sleeps curled, or for a kitten.

Stretch — 45 × 70 cm (17.7″ × 27.6″). Wide enough for a cat to lie fully extended, front legs forward and back legs trailing. If your cat sprawls rather than curls, or you want her to have room to shift position through the night, this is the size to pick. It also works well along the length of a sofa cushion.

Lounge — 60 × 90 cm (23.6″ × 35.4″). The largest size, with room for two or three cats to share without crowding each other. Also a good choice for a single large cat, for a senior who likes to spread out, or for a cold room where you want the warm area to be generous.

Not sure? Cats almost never object to more space. If you're between two sizes, take the larger one — she'll use it.

I really like how straightforward this heated pad is. There aren’t complicated controls or settings to figure out, just three heat levels on the controller. My cat started using it almost immediately. The pad feels sturdy and comfortable, and I appreciate that the heating element isn’t directly against the surface where she sleeps.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

contact_support

Q: How do I know which size to order?

Ans: Go by how your cat sleeps rather than how big she is. Curl (45 × 45 cm) suits a cat who sleeps curled up, and fits inside most crates, carriers and cat tree platforms. Stretch (45 × 70 cm) gives her room to lie fully extended. Lounge (60 × 90 cm) is for multi-cat households, or for a cold room where you want a generous warm area. If you're between two, take the larger one — cats rarely object to more space.

contact_support

Q: Is it safe to leave on while I'm out or overnight?

Ans: The pad has a built-in temperature sensor that monitors it continuously and regulates the heat, so it won't run away from itself. That said, it does not have a timer that switches it off automatically. Like any mains-powered appliance, we'd recommend unplugging it if you're leaving the house for an extended period. For overnight use with your cat in the room, the low setting is what most owners use.

contact_support

Q: Will it get too hot for my cat?

Ans: No. The pad is designed to sit at a comfortable warmth rather than a high temperature, and the sensor inside keeps it steady. Cats are also good at self-regulating — she'll step off if she's had enough, which is why the pad should always be placed somewhere she can leave freely. Start on low and move up if she seems to want more.

contact_support

Q: Will this help my older cat's stiff joints?

Ans: Steady, gentle warmth is something a lot of owners of senior cats find helpful, and it's a common reason people buy a heated pad. What we can say for certain is that EmberNest gives her a consistently warm, soft surface to rest on instead of a cold hard floor. We're not able to make medical claims — if your cat has a diagnosed joint condition, it's worth mentioning the pad to your vet.

contact_support

Q: Is it suitable for kittens and small cats?

Ans: Yes. Kittens struggle to hold their own body heat, which is one of the situations the pad is genuinely useful for. Use the lowest setting for a kitten, make sure she can easily get off the pad whenever she wants, and keep the cord tucked out of reach while she's still exploring with her teeth.

contact_support

Q: What is the pad made of?

Ans: A soft polyester plush velour cover over a multi-layer core. The heating element is fully isolated inside flame-retardant soft PVC layers, so your cat never rests directly against it. The base is a dark textured non-slip material that keeps the pad in place on hardwood, tile and laminate. The pad is 1.2 inches thick, so it lies flat almost anywhere.
